Just a few minutes ago, I was trying to clip my chicken's toenails because they were too long, but when I tried to clip, her claw started bleeding. I don't have access to Corid or any other chicken meds, and I need help with caring for her foot and help with clipping her nails. She's already lame and is lower in the pecking order. I can't post photos.

Unless they peck at her feet, separation is unnecessary. Clip toenails back only to the quick just like clipping dog toenails. With frequent clipping the quick can be forced to gradually retreat. Any of the products used to stop bleeding in dog nails can be used on chickens. In a pinch corn starch and temporary immobilization may help.

Thank you. I was really worried.

x2.
If one of my birds has a broken toenail, I have never yet found it necessary to intervene, honestly.

Is it the chickens nail part of the toe? One thing you can do is use a gauze and apply pressure for about 5 minutes. You may even need to keep on going without checking it constantly. You can also coat the toe in cornstarch. I hope this is helpful.
