I agree...large birds taken with only feathers left behind it could be a fox but with so many being taken my money is on coyote. You will either have to get better fencing up and a hot wire around it or the best solution is set on watch with a shotgun in hand.

Good luck to you, we all know how sick that feeling is when you find a scene like that.

Would a large live animal trap help? Maybe then I can at least see what it is. Also, a while back, I had a problem with something BIG dragging off the feed bins. It would drag them uphill into the woods and then try to get into them. These are large rubbermaid totes that will hold 50-75 lbs of feed!

It would help if we knew where you are posting from. If it is the British Isles, we can mark off wolves and bears.

Oops! I guess that would help! I,m in the northwest corner of Alabama. Does that mean look for bears? Someone at work said it could be a boa constrictor. I think she was just pulling my leg. Also my little dog went missing about three months ago. she was 1/2 chihuahua and 1/2 yorkie. Reckon she got ate too?

Well I know what it is now. One of the neighbors has a big old hound dog and yesterday we caught him in the act of dragging away Matilda, my dominicker hen.

She got away, but if they let their dog out again.... Weel let's just say there might be one less dog in the world! As for my little dog, I'm thinking a hawk or something got her.

normally when you lose small dogs and cats it is a coyote most times when you have bobcat problems the victim will be found close by half buried ,half eaten
