I think my hen may have invested a few bits of brownie about a half hour ago. What should I do?

Are you talking about an actuall canabis brownie? , don't think that whould hurt her , its a natural herb , it may just make her drowsey or sleepy

Definitely not. I mean a regular chocolate fudge brownie. How toxic is a small amount of chocolate to birds?

Haha, maybe you need to be a little more detailed in your description next time! So it was definitely a 'chocolate brownie'.

Feed her lots of fruit and veg for the next two days and make sure she doesn't show any signs of sickness. She should be fine

Sorry just making sure, I honestly have never had one of my birds eat chocolate but my dog once grabed a entire box of chocolate dipped cookies from my counter and ate the whole box, and this was a small dog , nothing at all happened to him so I'm thinking your bird will be just fine , I'd be more worried about caffine products as they may speed up a birds already fast heart rate.

Our dog got into chocolate years ago and I panicked but then a search proved it would take a large amount, like 4% of his body weight. Do a little searching but I don't think an accidental quantity is a problem, if a chicken had free reign of a pan I would be worried.
Also consider a fairly small amount of the brownie is actual chocolate.

Thanks for the replies. She seems fine at the moment, still has a good appetite and perky.
