We have a Cochin Hen approximately 18 months old, usually a consistent egg layer
We had roosters and went away for the holidays and returned to discover she had a large wound under her right wing, likely cause by rooster spur. We eliminated the roosters and put some iodine gel on her gaping wound once, she seems to lick/eat that away. She was not looking her usual full feathered perky self. The following days we put some neosporene on her wound, per some other advise that we received, I believe we applied this 3-4 times. She was healing well. Then we noticed her feathers started to grow back along her back, neck and lower legs. Then a week ago seh suddenly started walking like she is drunk, squatting and walking low and sideways. I have inspected her and can find no sign of any thing broken, nothing wrong with her feet, when I apply pressure to her legs she seems fine but the strange walking persists. She is eating and pooping fine, we have seperated her from the other chickens to reduce stress and protect her and the other chickens until she recovers. Please help!
