Hello,
My daughter wants to raise her own chickens to sell. She is looking for an unusual (must be pretty) breed but not so unusual that nobody wants them. She likes Sebrights, Faverolles, Scots Greys & Marsh Daisies. Does anyone have opinions on these or suggestions for more. She is 9 years old and i would really like to encourage this adventure for her.
Thanks

I don't know anything about those breeds, but I wanted to say that I think you are a great mom to support her in her endeavor.

I hope to do the same for my kids.

I love my faverolles - they're the little comedians in my coop - plus I think they're pretty easy to sex when they're young (the salmons at least).

The SF are one of the few chickens that my 7 year old can catch easily.

I have some golden sebrights, pretty birds, kinda flighty and not as friendly as my RIR or barred rocks, the rir seems like the easest and kid friendly chicken i own, they are decent egg layers as well, hope your Daughter enjoys which ever breed she gets and be sure to protect them from them evil predators so she doesn't have any heart ache,, good luck, mike:
