My seven year old grand daughter and her friend was helping me clean the nest boxes and the friend's Mother came over to see how they were doning. Well I thought she was going to pass out when she saw her daughter cleaning the nest box, bare handed. I use milk crates as nest boxes. Just take them out and dump the poop and some of the bedding. Put them back and fill them up with fresh bedding. Well, the Mother started screaming about touching chicken poop with her hands. The girl and my grand daughter thought they did something wrong. I stepped in and told the Mother I told them not to lick their fingers until after they washed their hands. The Mother still didn't think this was funny, but the girls realized they did nothing wrong, they started to laugh. The Mother then told me little girls were not to get their hands dirty. Gota love them city folk.
