Help cleaning turkeys feathers around the vent area!

i have a turkey hen whose feathers underneath are kinda nasty and crusted together and has poo stuck to them. All besides that she is fine and healthy and all. She is eating fine and drinking good, and she just recently started laying a few days ago and has laid twice since she started. Any advice on cleaning down there and stuff so I can be sure all is well back there!?

Warm water soak then take off. If need be could cut off feathers n new ones will grow back. Please do check out my forum building paradise for the birds. Hope to see u post

Not to common. U might wanna just cut the feathers away. Easier to make sure it don't get infected. N to make sure it grows back clean

Okay I'll try and do that and clean her up nice and good. Here she is it's a pic of her the day I got her first egg! I love her and my tom soo much. Just gotta make sure all is well and okay with her

I just got done pulling off most the clumped up mud and poo that was stuck under there. It was actually mostly mud not poo! Which is good. She is fine I cut the excess long feathers that were above and under her vent too to make sure it doesn't get so gross. I just trimmed it up some. She should be ok! Her vent looked all fine. Just a tiny bit of mud left that's it
