Help! Cockerel caught in trap! *ASAP*

My Bantam cockerel, Truce, got caught in a rat trap! Somehow he escaped his enclosure and got his leg stuck! (Thank God it was his leg and not his neck!) I really need help ASAP. What can I do for him?

His leg looks purple and swollen.

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that Truce got his leg caught in a rat trap. I have never had this happen before, but I googled it and saw there were other threads about this happening:

It looks like this person but popsicle sticks on either side of leg and secured it in place with medical tape. Maybe this might help?!

was there anything on thet trap? thats a narly scar. i would clean with vetrecine and niosporine. all i can say is to just keep the wound clean and quarintine him.

What do you mean? I don't think I've ever caught anything in that trap before (besides him). I don't have any of that
