Help! Coop flooded.....

OK she is starting to feel better she is still still falling asleep a lot but she is starting to drink on her own and I poored the food that I forgot to put the grit in out and put new food with grit in it and she is eating pooping but still falling asleep as I said

You may want to give just only water and make grit available for about 4-6hrs to see if that crop will go down. I understand you feel like you want her to eat, but you need to see if the crop is functioning properly. So give it a chance to see if it empties or reduces in size. If not, then you have some crop problems.

Personally I do not mix grit with feed, I let them choose whether they need it.

She feels better!

I'm glad she is feeling better. :)

I agree with offering grit in its own dish separate from the food. Chickens, even young chicks, are pretty awesome at knowing how to be a chicken. If she needs grit, she'll get it out of the dish as long as it is available.

I'm glad she made it!and glad that I went our their or she would have been next! She was the first one I grabbed because she kept falling face first in the water if I didn't see her right away she would have been history!

3 chicks have died today. I'm not sure of how or in any way it is related to the coop flooding all the ones that looked the worst have died! As I looked them over I noticed that water was coming out of there mouth and nostrils. Could they have dry drowned?

I'm sorry for your loss:hugs
Is the coop still flooded?
I'm sorry I may be misunderstanding, but I thought you moved all of them to safety.

Water coming from the beak and nostrils sounds like crop issues unless their coop is still flooded.
