Can anyone tell me what can be tried over a crack in a fertile egg which was placed under a broody but not her egg? The eggs are about a week in so far. Eggs were bought for this pullet to give her a job and I guess we don't have anything to lose to try to save this cracked one. I thought I read somewhere about nail polish but can't remember. Anyone have any suggestons?

I have heard others have done nail polish and the egg hatched...nothing to lose so you might as well try using clear nail polish...

Melt a light coat of candle wax over the crack and carefully smooth it over to seal the crack.

I've heard of excellent success with candle wax- use the least amount you can to prevent the egg from being wrong humidity inside.
