HELP...cracked open chicken egg at 23 day found

When you do want to remove the hatched & FULLY DRIED chicks....

if you can take you bator into the batroom, remove the already dried out chicks ONLY AFTER you have turned the hot water in the shower on and steamed the room up....... I've heard this is what a lot of ppl on here do! keeps the humidity in the bator....

good luck!!!!

am too clumsy to risk moving the bator.... I just get some real hot water and add some to the container and close the bator up quick, the steam brings the humdity right back up.....

after i remove the chicks from the bater i plan on putting them in a big plastic tote with pine shaving is that ok or should i cover the pine shaving with news paper and of course i'll have a red 250 heat lamp which is best newspaper or pine shaving?

I've heard some folks say that they take the eggs out of the egg turner and plac the eggs in paper cupcake liners, cuts down on the mess and keeps the chicks from kicking other eggs around?

I have used newspaper with paper towels layed on top of if (to give them some tracton) until they learn what their food is. Once they have the food down I switch to pine shavings.

temp for your ones in the brooder box, after you take them out of the 'bator, should be 95 degrees. that 250 watt bulb in the small area will be too hot, use a smaller watt. yes red light is best

paper towels in the brooder box, newpapers are slippery and can cause leg problems.

what is ur humidity in the 'bator? should be around 65 -70. I had problems with 65 so I up'd it up to 70's

Enjoy ur babies hatch
