Help! Crop problem?

Thanks again! Will do fecal on Monday. Threw the feed in the trash and will get another bag. I'm going to keep the hen isolated. I'll check her crop tonight and again in the morning for fullness.

No feed changes, but there was a slight black powder at the bottom of bag. She's been laying fabulously delicious eggs almost every day.
I will take poop to vet on Monday. Or should I just worm now without fecal float?

The black powder could also be sea kelp. It is in the organic crumble I buy and can settle to the bottom. It may be an ingredient in your feed also. Just a thought.

Thanks again. She's doing better, but notb100%. Dropped off some poop to check for parasites and will worm if needed when I find out the results!

Fecal results in...negative! No parasites.
Ingrid is back with the flock. Her crop seems to be filling and emptying normally. I found a few suspect pieces of plastic in their yard and am wondering if she ate something that plugged her up?
Her ordeal has left her a little skinny. Anything I should be doing to help her gain weight back?

Will do! I put yet another bowl of layer feed into their run. 3 feeding stations; 3 chooks...should be plenty?
About those fecals: the vet said they check mostly for presence of eggs, none of which were found. They then mentioned doing a routine worming anyways. If there are no parasites present should I still worm?

That's what I thought, but figured I'd ask the experts.
I'm still trying to find a good vet for the girls. I had a horrible experience with the avian vet near me...my dog/cat vet was nice enough to do the chicken fecal for me.
