FYI this is only my second hatch.
Yesterday (day 17) got 14 out of my 31 coturnix eggs hatched. Yay so cute and fuzzy
went to bed with a couple more pipped and one who'd made a hole big enough to see a beak, but very slowly. I woke up at 5:30am this morning to find two more stumbling about the brooder.
One of them has his toes curled up on one side, the other foot is fine. Anything that can be done for him? he's drying off but not walking right. Will he be OK to go in the brooder with the older ones from yesterday?
The other may have a case of spraddle leg, but he's only just hatched I think. Still catching his breath. I've seen the info on that so i'll give the band aid thing a try if needs be.
The one who is zip challenged has mostly made just a big hole looks like the others have all tried to encourage him out, because the shell is off and there is membrane exposed, but I can see reddish (blood?) behind there. Will it dry out too much? You can see him breathing and he's chirping but not going around like all the others have, it's been more than 12 hours since the first hole...
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
