Help diagnose this duckling... seizures

Thanks for the link, I had not seen that, tho its much like Holderreads book. I'll keep after her as much as I possibly can, although with work, tomorrow may be the true test for her. Really hope she starts to feed on her own. If she did, the seizures wouldn't be as large a concern.

Will keep updates going...

Oh, and bedding: Not likely, I'm using pure aspen wood chips, so there's no oils or scents or anything.

I saw this earlier today at work..But couldnt view the footage until I got home. In comparison the behaviour of this duck is a little different to a duckling I raised late last year however it still looks to me like vitamin deficiency could be a possible cause. The side to side movement suggests that nerve and muscular developement have been stunted - however it also suggests that there could well be developement or injury issues with the brain. I will pm you a few other details.

I lost the duckling today while I was at work. I have been reading and asking everyone I possibly could what this might be... the only two possibilities I have narrowed it down to are: physical injury (tho highly unlikely) or bacterial infection (Pastuerella). I have no clue where the bacterial infection could have originated. Due to that, and a second Fawn and White that is looking "tired" (still eating and interacting well, but less so than the rest) I am going to be treating the whole group of 9 with antibiotics.

So some questions:
1- Are antibiotics (specifically, Penecillin G or sulfa drugs) available at feed stores without a prescription (fairly certain they are)?
2- Anyone know the proper amount to include in feed or water? Best I can find is for treating turkeys, they state 2.2mg/kg of food (Pen G) or 0.04-0.08%.

I am currently having the same exact issue with my F & W Runner from Metzer farms

this is exactly what happened to my first batch of calls that hatched earlier this spring-1st one then it just went right through the whole group in a matter of a week, I lost all of them. Through the links that I got, Im pretty sure it was pasteurella or possibly duck hepatitist . My almost 2 year old started doing the lay on his side seizure like thing-I got antibiotics from TSC and injected him (have been a vet asst for 12yrs and have a diabetic cat so its easy for me) he is back to healthy now. I scrubbed down everything and used Oxine on everything. My 2nd batch of calls hatched out 2 weeks ago and have been fine so far

I am giving them purina flockraiser, brewers yeast and mashed hardboiled eggs-it was just heart breaking for me, I love those little guys.
