This past Tuesday my mom said her silkie hen was staying in the same spot in the yard, not moving much, and not eating. I thought it might have been the cold making her not feel good because we just had an ice storm in SC. Very unusual weather for us. Her hen was wobbly on her feet and had diarrhea. She was eating a eating a little on her own so i kept offering her scrambled egg and applesauce mash. I also gave her 0.5 ml of Nutridrench twice.
Today she still seems unsteady on her feet but not wobbling as much. She does walk around a little and it's alert but her diarrhea hasn't improved and she's not eating on her own. I've been hand feeding plain mash 4 times a day, about 10 grams each time. She does drink a pretty good bit on her own, about 100ml a day. What could be wrong with her?

How old is she?

When was the last egg?

The poop doesn't look very good. It could be due to not eating well or perhaps infection or worms, it's hard to know. If you have a way to take a sample to a vet for a fecal float, they can tell you more.

Applesauce can have a laxative affect, so you may want to give about 1 Tablespoon of plain quality yogurt daily instead.

Is her crop emptying? Any lice/mites?

Not eating on her own, but drinking is concerning. I'd continue to try to encourage her to eat some wet mushy chicken feed.

She is just over a year old. Not sure of her last egg because she is my mom's hen. When i first took her into my care on Tuesday i did a fecal myself and didn't see anything. No lice or mites. Yesterday and today i gave her plain mash. Her crop does seem to empty. I'm having to hand feed her and can only get about 8 grams in her before she starts getting restless and wanting to get away. I do that 4 times a day so she's getting about 32 grams total. She does drink on her own.
