help dieing 5 month old chick help!!!!!!!we found her on her side in henhouse, drawing her head back, she is weak,we gave her sugar water and yogurt, she is not eatting or drinking with out help,
I'm no expert, but from what i've been reading here on BYC, a lot of chickens have had issues with the heat during this big heat wave we're having. And a lot of alarming issues are resolved once the bird gets cooled down and relaxed.
I would keep helping her drink water. If you can get some electrolytes in it, like gatorade, or one of the other things recommended for chickens. Keep helping her drink until and get her cooled down until she's willing to start eating on her own.
If her poop is watery, it's likely because she's hot, and she's been drinking.
You can also offer her some cool watermelon or tomato to help her get some nutrients and cool down.
