Help! My golden retriever has just this horrible ear infection I have no clue what to do, its black, slimy, and it drives him NUTS I just want the poor guy to feel better, I clean them twice a day, and still dont see ANY improvement PLEASE HELP!!!

Black usually means it could be blood and either there's a Hematoma burst or inner ear ruptured. A vet will be your only option so he doesn't go deaf in that ear or worse, the infection put a strain on his other organs.

We have had a vet look at it, they have given us antibiotics, and other medications, but nothing has helped. Its only his right ear, the other one is perfectly healthy.

The vet needs to look again, something is wrong. He may have burst something trying to relieve it.

I did read that the flush I am using to clean might cause it to look more black.

Are you wiping it out gently with a cotton ball?
