I agree you need to get him back to the vet. Is he scratching that ear? You may need to get him in a "Cone of Shame" to protect it and ask the vet for an anti-inflammatory to give him some relief if he isn't already on one.

Have you taped the ear up so air can get to the ear canal? If not, get the tape for that purpose to do that. It will help the ear not be so dark, so warm, so moist.

Have you clipped the hair in that ear? Maybe around it also.

I agree a vet is needed again, unless maybe there hasn't been time for the medicine to work - I don't remember if you said how long it has been since going to the vet.

He went to the bet about 3 months ago, and he has been on this medication for almost 3 yrs. I haven’t clipped the hair in a while I will as soon as my clippers are charged. I will definitely try the tape!

My dog just got an ear infection as well! We took him to the vet and they gave us cleaning drops in the morning (that you wipe out) and medication in the evening (that you just leave in). Even though it's only the second day, there's a lot of progress already.

He got the ear infection from rolling in chicken poop by the waySame with his double eye infection a couple weeks ago

Yes, definitely go back.

Likely, the vet gave a medicine that works on the most likely microbes. Some cultures may need to be run to see which
medicine to use.

I think the medication relieved him, I noticed less itching, and whining, but the visible condition never got any better.
