Hey guys so a couple days ago (Wednesday) today being Saturday, there was a hawk in the yard watching my birds, my drakes all jumped their fence to protect the girls and now my one boy has an injured leg. He won’t walk on it or put pressure on it though he will put it down to balance himself but then picks it back up again.
When he lays down he kind of puts it behind him and scrunches it, I’ve had him in the house for the day as I found out he was hurt last night but he only seems to be getting worse, I’ve let him float in the tub 3 times throughout the day to get the weight off of it but I don’t even know what the problem is, there doesn’t seem to be swelling but it is warm.
When he tries to walk he doesn’t use that foot at all he just hops on the other one.

Today he’s been hissing at us if we get near him which he’s never done before and he’s constantly vibrating as if he’s cold. I’m not sure what to do or how to help him.

Did you examine the leg top to bottom especially where the leg meets the body to make sure it's not dislocated? or there might be a fracture. How high is the fence?
Rest ,water therapy, extra vitamins like Liquid B Complex for leg support {TSC} 1ml over a snack.
The vibration and hissing may mean he is in pain or just wants to be left alone. But you have to help him so ignore it, if he is eating drinking and resting there isn't much you can do unless a vet is an option.
Injuries take time to heal so it may take some time before he is 100% I wouldn't put him back with other drakes until he isn't limping any longer. Plus he needs to be kept where he won't over do any way.

The leg feels the same as the other one it’s just warmer.

The fence is about 4 1/2 feet high I think maybe 5 I don’t remember but the boys have jumped it many times but this time his wings were clipped to prevent him making it over.
I don’t have any liquid b complex

He’s been staying in a large bin in my kitchen, wasn’t planning to put him back outside until he was better. He’s been getting lots of water therapy but I’m not sure he’s really eating much. But he does drink

I just ran him a bath as I’m tying this

If you can get the liquid BComplex it can also help with appetite. Maybe also try a soup by using feed and warm water sometimes they will drink their feed if they aren’t feeling up to eating. Sprains take quite a while to heal.

So you think it’s just a sprain then?
It seems to me that his hock down his leg to his ankle are where it’s hot, the hip and ankle along with foot are normal

I am not a vet only one of them could say for sure I am just saying maybe treat it as one or even a fracture and let him rest get swim therapy and something for pain and the Liquid B complex and wait it out. Hopefully by the end of this coming week you'll see much improvement.
