Help! Droopy wing in pullet? Injury palsey?

Rhoise, sorry about your hen. Your hen could have a neuro problem that is not Marek's. Or tumors that are not caused by Marek's. That;s why a good flock history is important, as well as any other chickens getting the same thing. I guess only time will tell, or a necropsy.

I agree, doesn't sound like Mareks, but it unfortunately does sound like a neurodegenerative disorder....I would take her to the vet at this point Julie, I'm sorry

Been on the phone trying to find who or where I can have a necropsy done in case she continues to down slide, as long as she hangs in there and isn't suffering too bad I will wait and see if the vitamin treatments kick in and help?

emailed the state vet waiting for reply.......she is at national poultry improvement conference???

how are the ducks?
Ivy was feeling back to normal the day following her charcoal treatment. They are still cute and cuddly! I just changed their pond....gonna switch to the smaller one here soon I think.

Here's that pretty pic of Snow from the other day....poor chica...

Weirdest thing her wings are up tight now? She looks better than she did in this picture, no more drouping wing(I DID TRIM IT BUT THE ACTUAL WING IS TUCKED UP UNLIKE IN THE PICTURE), she just stumbles a bit more and extends them if she thinks she's tipping over? Does that weird very high lift of her left foot, holds it till almost stumbles and plops it down hard on the ground last second????Still laying eggs, eating and pooing normally? I wonder if she has a vit deficiencey from cocci treatment with Corid? I've been treating her with POLYVSOL infant drops two times a day, yogurt and pumkin mixed with 20 percent layer pellets, yesterday she took a dustbath, and ate a bunch of oyster shell, I have been limiting her time out of her pen to an hour supervised so she doesn't eat a ton of grass, thought that might be diluting her nutrition, if Gertie was stopping her from the feeder before too???

How much poly vi sol are you giving her?

Coccidia can cause permanent damage that will inhibit the absorption of nutrients from food.

yes thats what the vet told me about my last chick that died failure to absorb nutrients(wasting) but she had the trots, and we treated everyone with a repeat of Corid per vet as a last ditch effort, it didn't help. I am giving her 1/2ml of polvsoy and some sunflower seed meats for vit e and selinium for third day in a row now 5 doses in her so far, one still to go this afternoon

I was told to expect at least 2 weeks of vitamin therapy before I would see any sign of improvement. I really hope your hen gets better!
