Help duck ate a Nerf Dart

My friends female pet duck ate a nerf dart out of her daughters hand. What should she do. she is eating and drinking. my friend contacted a vet (not an aviary vet) which told her the duck will die.. I want to give her some hope. my ducks are free Rangers and eat things I know they shouldn't. Any advice will help. thank you

I'm sure she will be fine. Our old chickens used to eat straws and stuff and it always passed through them and they where fine.

The thing to watch for is at the other end - if it is passing, then she should be pooping normally. I do not think it is a certain death sentence - ducks can eat some weird things. And sometimes it gets tricky.

How is the duck now?
