I have an adult duck that is having a problem, I have read about a hundred threads and can find nothing that sounds exactly like her problem. I do not know how old she is or what kind, but i have had her over a year and I have been noticing the problem for about a week, but it seems to be getting worse. She is about the size and coloring of a metzer golden 300, she might be something else, but looks just like one of those.

She will be walking along or standing just fine, then her legs start to shake, her whole body tenses up and she stretches up onto her toes then her wings shoot out and she just lays down. She will lay for a while, then she gets up and is fine again...

So far in treating possible problems I have been giving her some epsom salt water to flush out toxins, if that is the problem. I am alternating that with antibiotic water, niacin water, probiotic water and electrolyte water trying to cover all of the bases.

I don't water to cause more problems with these treatments, so if anyone has seen anything like this before, please let me know if you figured out the problem and what you did to treat it.

she is still eating good, she drinks and she is laying eggs still.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Thank you for your response. This isn't really the normal stretching and resting they do, this seems to be more of a spasm of some kind, but I do appreciate your helpful response. I also want to thank whoever removed the previous offensive responses. This is such a great, helpful website for people with legitimate problems and rude comments belong elsewhere in my opinion. As an update, Duckie seems to be more energetic this morning and more vocal about wanting to leave the infirmary, so will watch her closely today for any more episodes, but she is definitely more active this morning, doing normal duck things.

Thank you, the website you provided is awesome, so much information, I am still reading through all the possible conditions, but I will definitely save the site for the future as well.
