Hi my duck is 5-6 years old and in recent months has been struggling to walk a little bit after swimming for long periods of time. As her walking had become more laboured her wings have become worse as well. I have supplemented with niacin and vitamins but has not helped. Pls help

Do you have a video of her walking?

Unfortunately, Pekins have been bred to be meat birds, and frequently develop problems, specifically of the musculoskeletal system as they age. Oftentimes, nutritional therapy and overall basic supportive care (letting her in water often, keeping her on soft grounds, etc) can help improve life but tends not to address what's going on internally.

I can't really help, but I can sympathize with you. My 7 year old pekin has similar issues. Her feather quality isn't great because she doesn't preen well, and she is often tired.

I do my best to take good care of her. Like Isaac mentioned, I keep her on soft surfaces and let her bathe frequently. I also feed high quality duck food.
