Hey Guys, I really need some help trying to figure out what is going on with my duck. She is an adult Pekin about three years of age in a flock of five. Her name is Handa They free range in our yard with a large lake access for swimming-jumping off from the seawall or dock. They do not venture off far in the lake. Typically, we can go and call for them. They will respond with loud quacks and head for the stairs that lead out of the water. Climbing the stairs out of the lake and head to their pen. They walk a short distance of grass to their pen and coop. In their pen, we keep a couple of kiddie pools for water and play and a large bowl of food. We clean the pools daily and put fresh water in.

Starting last week, Handa, my sweet female Pekin wouldn't go up the stairs with the rest of the flock for nite nite. She had to spend the night out on the lake and shoreline. The next morning, she rejoined her flock. We suspected she was having a problem climbing the stairs so we looked her over and found nothing. We just wrote it off as she was spooked with something near the stairs.

A week later (three days ago), the same scenario, we went down for bedtime to get them out of the lake and to bed. She wouldn't come out so we had to leave her out for the night again. We have security cameras and lights so we watched over her as she swam around in the lake and then slept 30 minute intervals on a neighbors shoreline.

Around 7:45 am on Thursday, she went to rest on the shoreline but she went up into the brush and hid. I went out to get her and found her hidden in the brush. She was panting with open mouth breathing and wouldn't put up a fight to keep from getting captured by me. I ran her to the pen and put her down and she fell over and couldn't stand at first. Then she would stand and walk around like she was drunk. She went off from the flock to rest next to a tree. So i scooped her up and made a bed of shavings and her own pen inside the pen with water + tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with Mother and food sprinkled with meal worms. She didn't respond and normally has a robust appetite especially for mealworms. I decided to give her some liquid vitamins (poly vi sol/no iron) via dropper. Then I waited to see if she'd eat. Nothing. I then got a 20cc syringe and made some mash and fed her. She began to eat and drink on her own. She drank almost two gallons of water. I kept her in the hospital pen all day yesterday (Friday) and also gave her 1 ml of vitamin b complex. She ate some but did not drink as much water yesterday as she did the day before. Two hours before bed, I picked her up and put her in the kiddie pool which she loved. She swam and tried to clean and dip around.

Today, I gave her electrolytes and vitamins in her water instead of apple cider vinegar with Mother.

She is still walking with drunkenness and breathing open mouth but eating, drinking, pooping and swimming. She is alert, her eyes are bright, no discharges that I could see, open mouth breathing, her feathers look a little rough but its because she can't balance to do necessary grooming and preening. I felt her underside for an egg and did not feel any lumps in that area. Should I try antibiotics? Continue B Complex? Should we be heading to the vet? Charcoal slurry? I can try to upload a video if it will help.

Sorry for the long read, was trying to provide everything that may help for assistance! Me and Handa thank you guys for any help!!
