I had two ducklings hatch two months ago. One is Blue Swedish(mom)/Welsh Harlequin(pop). She(?) Just ate a small piece of cellophane plastic before I could catch her and get it away from her.

Will she be able to pass it? What should I do???? Please help!

These two ducklings are the only two survivors from the clutch of eggs after I finally caught and dispatched the black snake that had been marauding the nest. They are best buddies and it would break my heart if this is fatal And I could have done something!

Please help!

I tend to think it should pass right through her unless it was so big that she had trouble swallowing it in the first place. Just keep a close eye on her and make sure she doesn't eat any more plastic. I think she should be just fine.

Thanks so much! I don't even know where it came from or how she came upon it. I looked up and saw it in her mouth and when I tried to catch her she just gobbled it down. It could'nt have been more than than 1inch x 2 inch.

And yes, I'll keep a close eye on her!

Everyday i have to clean outside because of the mess my dear ducks make. I live at a big lake and people throw lot`s of stuff in it. Especially cigarette filters. I hate that! Because i will find them back in my ducks poo. It`s amazing that they won`t go sick from it...
So i think your duckie will be just fine
