I am a first time duck owner. We hatched 6 ducklings but 1 of my chocolate runners took almost two days to hatch. When it hatched, from what Ifound online, the egg sac was outside of the belly but it has receded . It has been two days and the little guy still won't lift it's head or try walking, his eyes also look kind of dry at times and sometimes look white so I wipe them with a wet paper towel. I read it should be kept in the incubator but it is not getting any better. I have been trying to get water into the beak with a medicine syringe and give it some mushy starter feed but I can't get much food in. I also read it might have a niacin deficiency. Poor little ducklings just lays there breathing and wiggles around to move about the incubator. Should I put him with the other ducklings or would hurt him. Should I hold him more or is that bad for the poor little guy. It tried to hold him in some water so he could feel the sensation of it on his legs. I really want him to get better and survive!! PLEASE HELP ME SAVE MY BABY DUCK!

Get some nutridrench and dribble it on his bill.

I don't think that holding him will hurt at all. I'd be careful putting him with the other ducklings because they might pick on him.

Is the egg sack still attached to him?

Keep him very warm and dry

Hello if the yolk wasn't fully absorbed don't give it anything by mouth at all. They aspirate and can get fluid in the lungs. Time in a margarine container in the incubator is generally all they need. Possibly something else is wrong?
Definitely stop giving it anything till it finds its feet..

@Sunbird 7591 has the yolk sac receded into his body? and closed up? that is very important and the main reason for putting it into a bowl lined with a soft cloth so it can't drag it's body around an possibly rupture the yolk sac. How is the little one doing. Don't try to get it to eat yet.
