Help! Duckling still attached to egg!

My duckling is still attached to the egg by her umbilical cord. She’s been struggling with it for about 8 hours now by kicking the shell, and hasn’t been able to walk. Should I leave her be or try to cut it off? Had another duckling who was born with one attached and passed away the next day

You need to leave her until the 24 hour mark. How high is your humidity? It should be 60-70%.

You could pick off the shell surrounding the cord, so he just has a little bit to walk around with, the rest will dry up and fall off eventually
