Hi! I found a ducking, that was for sale, at a Farm store. As I was looking at all the ducklings I noticed that one couldn't walk. They gave me the duckling, but I have no idea what I can do to help it. It looks like one leg is twisted at the knee and he also drags it behind him when he tries to walk. Any suggestions on what I can do to help it? Going to a vet is not an option, so this is something that I am going to have to do on my own. I would like to be able to help it so that it can live a happy life.
I have been given it B complex vitamins and niacin.

I’m not familiar with baby ducks, so is it at swimming age because if so water therapy can help with lots of legs issues in ducks, and correcting feet. Definitely keep with the vitamins especially the niacin. Is it eating and drinking, and can it walk right now or is the duck lethargic, or does it just stumble around. Do you know what breed of duck this is, and I have a pekin duck who hasn’t quick recovered her leg strength from a niacin deficiency yet, but even though she can’t walk long distances she is still very happy, so changes are, I think this duck with be ok especially if he can walk a bit right now.

Its a Pekin! No it can't walk. It can stand up but it kinda wobbles around when it has to go any where. I have heard of water therapy. I will start doing that with it and see if that helps.
Thank you

Gotta love Pekins even if in my experience they always have the legs issues. Good luck with water therapy. Make sure that she paddles her leg, if she doesn’t you could try tapping or moving her leg with your finger so she gets used to paddling. I’m so glad you saw her so she can have a good chance at life. Updates will be aprecoated, I’ll spare any advice I can

She cant walk real well at this time, but she is better than she was when I got her. I can now put food and water in her pen and she is eating and drinking great. I did let her swim for a little bit tonight and her legs do paddle. It seemed like she was swimming in a circle but that could be because I just had her in the kitchen sink, which isn't very big? She really hasn't grown very much. The other duck that they gave to me so that she would have a buddy is A LOT bigger than she is now. Hopefully, now that she has unlimited food and water she will start to grow. Thank you for your response! I will keep you posted.

I’m glad she’s eating and drinking, your doing a great job helping her

Thank you! It's been challenging but hopefully everything works out.
Thanks again
