Ok my friend is on Vacation starting today, her fiance was suppose to be staying with her chickens but he has ended up going with her, so i am chicken sitting which includes an incubator full of eggs that are dated to hatch on the 19th (she doenst come back till the 24th) I have never hatched eggs, heck i am new to the chicken world and have 4 chickens that are not yet laying but can go anytime. She has given me directions, and has alot of confidence in me, but i am nervous!!!!!!!! I am suppose to remove the egg turner tomorrow. I have the temp where its suppose to be, humidity good. I just thought it would be nice to have some more experienced chicken lovers walk through this with me my first time so i am not calling her every 5 min. while she is on Vacation. Completely nervous yet excited to see these chicks hatch!!!!!

Edit: I forgot these eggs are a mixture of bantams, and a heavy breed i think she said Jungle something(still learning the breeds)

I got up this morning (have to be at work soon) and I went to check the eggs, I heard an awful lot of peeping!! One of the jungle fowl eggs was moving quite a bit.

No they are not in the turner, I have 3 hatched out, 11 pipping. So from today I go three days of leaving them in the incubator so the other eggs are hatched(if they havent hatched by then they wont right) ? I am trying to get ahold of my friend just to double check that I do leave the hatched chicks in there. I am just really nervous and dont want to do anything wrong! So am I right? Leave them in the Bator?

I've been taking mine out of the bator a few at a time as they dry. They just seem so crowded in there and they run all over each other. I guess it is up to you to decide how long to keep them in bator. The brooder should be just under 100 when you put the chicks in there but if it is too hot you can kill them. Good luck, I'm sure you will do just fine.

Well i took 6 out this morning, they are doing good, 2 black bantams, 4 little yellow bantams. I got two just hatched in the incubator all bantams. The large ones pipping but none out yet.
