Help! Electronically Challenged. Wiring light to thermostat...

Can someone please point me in the direction of easy to follow directions for wiring my lamp kit to the water heater thermostat. I've looked at lots of homemade incubator pages on the site but I still don't really understand what to do. Thanks!

Page 16 shows diagrams for 240 and 120 volt thermostats. Your lamp kit will be used in place of the element.

Went to Lowes and bought a therm. controlled switch. Just plug and play. The heat lamps come on anytime the temps drop below 50.
