OKAY OKAY I will try to calm down. One of my frequent broody chickens has been sitting on her clutch for 25 days now, and she up and decided she wasn't going to sit anymore so I was just taking out the unfertile/unhatched eggs. I grabbed the third one and I noticed a crack. I felt bad because it was dead because of that crack. Then I realized that it was chripping and I freaked out and tried to get her to sit onit but she started pecking it trying to eat it (I've never had that happen before but off topic) and I ran incide, and the incubator takes at least an hour to get to the proper temperature and even longer for the humidity (its old) and so I did the first thing I could think of- I made a nest out of wet paper towels and stuck it in a pan in the oven. The lowest the oven goes to is 175 so I have the door wide open to lower it. IT's been about 8 minutes and I hear it chirping in the oven and I would like to her some suggestion on what the heck to do. And I don't have a thermometer to check its temp.

This may sound funny but I've heard of woman putting them down their shirts and let them hatch. Your body temp is normally close to 99 degrees. I'd be afraid the oven will be to hot

Yes i would leave it in the nest she had it on and leave it be it will hatch soon if its not cold where you are. When my hen got off of hers for a long time while eatting i checked on the eggs and when i felt one was getting cold or not warm i would rubb my hands together until they are warm and i would hold it while it hatched. Hav not had any problems. But most likely the oven would get to hot and kill it.

If it hatches and you have a heat lamp you can put it under it but make sure that it has a cool place to move to if its to hot for her. if it is under the light and is chirping move the light a little closer. if it move away from the light back it up a little.
