By the time I got back to the egg it stopped chirping. I was only on the computer for 15 mins.

I scratched a small hole in the bottom of the egg and I don’t see anything moving. There was no blood, just space and a membrane. I gave it back to its mother who immediately sat on it as I think that since she is talking to the other chicks non-stop that she might talk to the egg. I hope it is still alive. It is not chirping. I feel like a murderer.

I lost a chick yesterday as it stopped eating. I tried vitamins and pedialite with a dropper as well as yoghurt and feed on a toothpick every couple of hours but it just would not make it. I just finished burying it outside when I walked in and heard this egg chirping.

This is the 3rd time I have hatched and the only time I have ever had any problems but it is definitely heartbreaking.

I will keep you posted.
Thank you to all that have offered advice.
