Why is everything happening late. Last week i had 2 chicks hatch on day 24. Now i have turkeys in bator and hatcher and they are late. Pip on day 28 but nothing else. my temps are stable at 99.5 and humidity im keeping at 60 to 70. do i need to run bator and hatcher a little hotter. The first 3 set i hatched in this bator and they were on 20 , 21 and 22. but now i have a hatcher thats stainless steel insulated box with a wooden top i made for hatching. what should i do?

Is it a staggered hatch? If so that's normal. Don't raise temps.

is the day i put the eggs in bator day # 1 or the next day at same time day #1. IE. i put eggs in bator on wed at 5pm. is this day 1 or is thursday at 5pm day1? ok they went in on wed march 09 at 5pm so should i have locked down on the 27 or the 28 and should it hatch on the 30 or the 31?

Have you calibrated your thermometer & hygrometer??? Are you absolutely sure they're giving you correct readings?? Do this before anything else. You can search here for how to do this. I drowned 2 batches of chicks (died after pipping internally) because my hygrometer was reading 10% too low....it was saying 65%, but it was actually 75%!! Late hatches are usually attributed to low temps, but I would calibrate before I raised temps.

I have purchased a thermometer & hygrometer for reptile habitats from Petco online...they're round dials...they're both spot on accurate!

The 60% to 70% humidity,,,is this just for hatching or do you keep it at this the entire incubation period?

If you had good hatches in your incubator...but now having problems in a new hatcher...look at the hatcher...something may be off there.
