Help Figuring Out Problem With Sick Chick

Sorry about you baby. I searched around the forum for old posts dealing with gasping chicks, as you might imagine their are many reasons why.

This board a lady tried a garlic water recipe on top of the sugar water. Another literally found plastic paper in the babies mouth. Just know if you can't find the reason, you tried your best.

Thanks. After not getting replies yesterday I combed everything on here. The chick had some symptoms mentioned in some, but never all.

I checked the mouth near the beginning of the ordeal, nothing there.

Sadly, he chick died sometime between midnight and 4 am. I expected it would the rate of decline it was having. The entire event was between 12 to 18 his from first symptom to demise.

Looking back, I'm trying to identify anything that might have been a factor. I've thought of a couple of things.

1) I did have one chick of of 5 that required an assisted hatch. It was malpositioned with beak over the right wing. I'm not certain if this was that chick or not though.

2) this chick was very slightly splayed leg, not horribly but still noticeable.

So far today all of the remaining chicks in this hatch are symptom free and dying what they are supposed to do. (I'll keep watching them closely though)

The fact that this was on day 4 of life and none of the others seem to be sick, makes me wonder if it wasn't either something passes through the egg from mom, or just something internal that was incompatible with life
