HELP! First hatch!

Chickat- that's helpful thank you, will have a search through previous ones. Have you got any signs of hatChing yet?
I seem to be able to see the eggs 'wiggle' just a teeny bit. :O) I'm thinking tomorrow is lockdown day. My turner is automatic so it will stop turning and I will make the adjustments then.

BTW if you go to my blog-of-sorts and scroll down to that photo of the partially developed egg, there is a link where a photographer put an image of each day's chick development. Their chick actually shows up on day 20 so you may not be that far off. I'm excited for you.

Chickat- very interesting blog! Great pictures of beautiful chickens. I have 2 eggs pipped now and you can see a lot of movement inside the little holes they have chipped so it's looking good HOPEFULLY! I have no idea what breeds to expect either, local farmer just gave us random eggs! Wish you the best of luck with yours

You must be nearly there..... BTW, I was reading my incubator handbook last night and it said that lockdown humidity should be 65-70% so I guess different incubators, different situations different approaches...etc. Good luck.
65-70 good for quail, if you use this humidity before dont you find dead chicks in the eggs?
I hatching 95-100% hatch rate with low humidity, my incubator hand book say the some 65-70 but is not true.
40-45 for 18 day and 55-60 last 3 day , you will love the hatch rate.

HERE ARE SOME PICTURES! hope you are able to view them ok. I was up till 2.30am last nite watching these 2 hatch. Could not take my eyes of it, amazing. They are in the brooder now and eating, drinking, running round then just dropping and sleeping, so cute. Remaining eggs are stil in bator but no more pips yet (day 20). any ideas of any nice things to give them to eat? apart from chick crumb obviously.
Looking forward to going out to see my broody tomorrow, she is sitting on 7 and they are due about now too.
