any advice....

my chicken looked 'off' this morning. when i took a look she had one eye shut. no discharge from the eye or anywhere else . she was walking into things, missing food and getting picked on.
i put her in a pen on her own but in sight of the others. when i came home about 2 hours later she looked perky but i brought her in as it was about to rain. offered her food and she was keen but kept misjudging, same with water.

with persistance she has got slightly better and eaten some and had a reasonable drink though really her depth perception is terrible.

i hope she has simply been pecked and will be fine in a day or two. is there anything i should be doing? i think she had become hungry thirsty and depressed if a chicken can be depressed. she does seem happier and stronger after some food.

i have acv in her water and will just now add a little sugar in case it helps.

thanks

Have you tried flushing her eye out at all? I would say try to gently open it and see if theres anything stuck...but i dont know if it would bother her eye more.

thanks...i have now bathed it in saline solution and it is a bit more open. she also has eaten most of a scrambled egg so i've put her to bed inside for the night and will see how she seems tomorrow. she doesn't seem quite herself somehow. her coordination is still poor and she seems a bit sleepy.
