Help!!! Foreclosure

There are a couple places available near by with a bit more land for the same price. We are going to attend the auction too. Also, the landlord says he has paperwork proving that he has been responsible, however, if that were true we wouldn't be at this point. We will bank the rent money, so we have proof we are not defaulting on payment to the PROPER person. As of now, we have paid rent til 6/1.

Yea, and you found paperwork on the gate that says otherwise. I wish you luck through this endeavor. Keep us posted.

I am still trying to wrap my brain around the whole thing. We really do love living here and the prospect of moving is highly undesireable to us. I wish we had better credit and more money!

You've worked through worse in your life, you'll get it figured out. Sorry you have to go through this anyways.

This happend to me last year before I bought my house. I was paying $1600 a month for rent and the land lord wasn't paying his mortgage. Make the bank pay you for the keys. They have cash for keys programs and they will give you a couple grand to move. Don't just let them throw you out without paying you. The banks are evil and would rather have the property sit empty than keep tenants. Hope it all works out well for you.

Wow. I thought my past was bad! I was renting from this AWFUL apartment complex. We went through 3 apartment managers in the year that I was there. I received an eviction notice on my door from the owner of the property. I went down to that office with all of my receipts in hand.

Wound up the manager was taking the cash, money orders and checks and pocketing ALL of the money. Jerk...

I just took over managing a self storage facility in October, and we had the same issue here, I had about 45 people in lien, that were actually completely up to date on payments, but the last managers were too lazy to put the payments into the computer, and some had written receipts saying they paid in cash, but the money was never deposited, or put into the computer. It took me about 3 months to sort everything out, what a mess! I even found checks from over a year ago in a drawer that were never deposited! Morons! As long as you stay on top of things, this job isn't that hard! So Basically I feel for you, even thought I am on the opposite end of things.

Let's hope this is true,,,, because it's the legal owner screwing Debi,,, not the renter,,, she's the renter!

Yes, I understand that Debi is the one that we all should be routing for. HOWEER, If you have ever been a legal owner of a property that has a dead beat renter (not debi of course) you woud be hard pressed NOT be on the owners side. it cost big money, big time and lots of headaches and frustration. The law sucks, lets hope it does so in Debis favor.
