Currently under a heat lamp with some water that i have put some feed in. has eating and drank. Anything that i can do? What else should I be doing for it?
No clue how old it is. It is eating and drinking when I splash the water, It jumps in and starts picking the feed out of the water. I just attached a photo of the duck above in my original post!
Just make sure the feed isn't medicated! I've read you can try putting those tiny shrimp they feed pet turtles in their water (they sell them at pet stores) and that's good protein for them- and make sure that the heat lamp is only really "hitting" part of the brooder, so he can move away from the heat if it gets too hot. Best of luck!
If you have a wildlife rehab organization in your area, I would contact them! Wood ducks are super finicky- and require a lot of different care than chickens.
