We are new to chickens, decided to give it a try. We picked these girls up at the local feed store. As they grew it became obvious they weren't what we were told they were. I suspect Rangers but can someone confirm? Thank you in advance!

They're New Hampshires, and very nice looking hens.

I'm not sure what you were told they were, but what you wound up with is a very popular breed of bird. They make nice backyard hens, are reasonable calm, wonderful layers of nice sized brown eggs. Even if they're not what was advertised, I'm sure you'll be happy with them.

Thank u for the input. They are very docile, just starting to lay. First egg was huge but I expected that from these hefty birds.

Txs again!
