Ok so we have had this goose laying on eggs for awhile now.. but we assumed they weren't fertile as our male seemed to have no interest..

but today they are starting to hatch! one so far.. now our question is the other eggs are moving so i am sure they are gonna hatch soon..
do we remove the babies? or do we keep them with mama?
Do we put food and water in the pen?

Sorry we are totally shocked over here..
thanks for all the help

Goslings dont need to eat for the first 24 hours they still have the yolk to nourish them. You can let her keep them she can and will take care of them or you can take them and raise them yourself its up to you. If you decide to take them from her wait until she has hatched them all out, i have heard of geese and ducks leaving the nest if babies are taken before all hatch out, which leaves the others to die in the egg. If you take them mix their feed with niacin tablets or brewers yeast until they are 12 wks old. Niacin tablets are 100mg per gallon of water or 100mg - 150mg per cup of feed. Or feed brewers yeast in their feed 1 cup per 10 pounds of starter feed. Personally i think the yeast does better. Thats all i can tell you, maybe someone else can chime in and mention anything i may have forgotten. Congrats on the new babies!! If you can get pics when they are up and about we all would love to see them.

Thank you so much for your quick reply. I sent the text message to leave them be :) I can't be out there tonight as I am stuck indoors.. lovely sickness I have. I will try to get photos asap. Sometimes surprises are great.. and this is one of them!

Thanks again
