So glad to hear that was all it was. We have huge old azalea bushes all over our property and when I first got goats I was worried about them eating them but they seem to leave them alone. I had talked to other breeders who said they might nibble on one and then throw up later and will avoid them after that.
I was horrified to think it might be rabies but when we had a cat that liked to wander in the woods and stay gone a day or two come home sick, drooling and some foam from mouth, the vet said he would have to quarantine it for 10 days. He said that rabies would show up in 7-10 days. That's been my only experience with that awful disease. Luckily our cat was fine and came home 10 days later, cured of his "cold" but with a big vet bill for boarding.
However, since the goat was attacked by "crazed" dogs you might want to ask your vet if there are any precautions to take or signs to look for or if it's even a concern.
