So I'm in Cali it has been excessively hot 105+. I have shades up I give fresh water every night including watering down the pen for moisture. I have 2 5 gallon waters and even a fan inside the coop.
I lost one RIR earlier this week when it reached 109. Now I have another thats down in the run and wont move. I was spraying everything down and didnt notice her till after she was a little wet. Can this just be from the heat or do you think something else is going on.

109 could definitely do it... Several of my friend's hens died from 105-110F temperatures... Have you tried putting some ice in the water? I know it is not a lot but it helps. The ice keeps the water cool for longer. The Electrolytes and cool water soak sound like a good idea but since I am not there, I can't say for sure she is not sick aside from the heat.
