The other poor ones look a bit stuck when you see that one fly out like that!! But they're rocking away!

Ok so got 4 little chicks and 1 egg that's done nothing! What's next on the agenda? Keep them in overnight and brooder tomorrow or next day? Keep temp the same in the incubator or lower? Thankyou in advance :-)

I normally leave them in over night and you do have your brooder temp all up and ready correct ....

Them chicks have three days worth of nutrition inside of them as that was the last thing they did before leaving the egg ....

Is there just one egg left that hasn't hatched? IF you decide you want to get in there and see if you can assist - first run hot water in your shower and let it steam up the bathroom really well. You can then more the bator to the bathroom.

Have a box ready to transfer the hatched chicks to your brooder (which should be warmed UP and ready for them). Get them out of the bator as fast as possible.

Then spray warm water in the incubator and see if the last egg is making any progress and the chick still seems alive. If so leave him in the bator and put it back where it belongs.

Please let us know how things turn out and congrats on your first chicks.

Yeah, one egg left un hatched. I've decided to leave it just for now and see if anything changes, I think perhaps it's dead :-( . Will transfer others to brooder this eve? That will be 24 hours, is that ok or should I leave them longer? I've turned the temp down by a degree. What is the best substrate for the floor of the brooder please? Thanks
