Help Hatching

I am new here but have followed many threads for the last year. I posted yesterday but I'll try to keep this short. I had to mama's saying on their combined clutches and had found one new hatchling that was trampled. After posting my question yesterday I discovered the best solution was to remove one of the moms. Which I have done. My issue is now that the 2 clutches of eggs will not hatch at the same time and as a matter of fact I have one that is attempting to come out of the egg right now. My concern is that the mama still sitting is still sitting on the remaining eggs and is paying no mind to the one that's is poking out of the egg. Should I leave it or will she smother it? I know the general consensus is to leave the mom alone but I just want to make sure that babies make it. Please help!

Why didn’t you separate the two ducks and let each hatch their own eggs? Now maybe move this hatching one under the remaining broody and either leave it with the broody that’s still sitting or take the duckling once it’s hatched and keep it in a brooder. How much difference in days are you talking about?how many eggs is she sitting on

I tried to move some eggs with the other mom (3 eggs) and she wont sit on them. She is in the duck run area across the yard and wont have anything to do with them. The mom that I left on the original nest is sitting on 14. One of the eggs is completely broken on one side and if mom moves I see the baby although it's not entirely out. The reason I moved one mom was because I knew we were on day 28 for the original clutch of eggs so when I went to check on. The yesterday I discovered a new hatchling that had died. Looked like it was just trampled.

It.could be up to a full week difference for the two clutches. I kept track of the first mom and her clutch but didnt realize the other one continued to lay in the same nest until several days later...and then she joined the first mom and started sitting too.

She’ll continue to sit about 3 days after first ones hatch usually by then the are ready to get up and take their ducklings out. If she keeps on sitting you could try to encourage her to stay by putting feed and water close by so ducklings and her can get to it . But a week maybe pushing it.you could also try taking the ducklings as the hatch brooding them till all eggs that are going to hatch do hatch then when she brings the ducklings out distract her with treats and put the brooder hatched ducklings in with the group. My broody’s Would accept all ducklings hatched by different mamas the first week after that they knew who were theirs and weren’t as keen on it
