She started out just sneezing yesterday morning. By 4pm yesterday, sneezing and rattles. By 8 pm the coughing was added.

Thinking about culling her to protect flock. I don't want to contaminant them all.

Beau, I think you read over the Shagbark Bantams articles ~ have you considered using Oxine as a mister in your coop? May provide the boost your girl needs to shake this on her own. Just a thought.

i had 1 roo with the same problem,, he even let my wife ( who he HATES) pick him up,, we went to the feed store and talked to the "bird dude" and he gave us "Pen-Aqueous" and told us to inject him with a half CC a day for a week,,,3 days later my roo was back to himself.
3 weeks later a guy came and brought me a BR that he found, and the poor guy "rattled" with every breathe,, so i did the same for him,,,4 days later,, he was fine.

I have never heard of pen aqueous. Do you still have the package? What is in it?

Does any one know if OEGB seem to be birds of "weaker constitution" than other breeds? While they are beautiful- they don't seem to be very hardy.

it has ,,,penicillin G, procaine hydrochloride, potassium,,,and other stuff,,, it says the Pen.G and procaine react together to form penicillin G procaine.

I wonder which would be better- tylan or pen aqueous? Both antibiotics? Penicillin might be the way to go.

I like the oxine mist for fungus idea also.

Probably can't do the 2 treatments at the same time though?

The rest of the flock has likely been exposed to whatever is ailing her and they seem to be resistant so you may not have a problem there.
I had a hen get quite ill in September - brought her to the vet and he treated with antibiotic, fluids, tube feeding. We never knew what it was but thankfully she rallied and is the picture of health right now. Her roo buddy never got sick so he was not vulnerable to whatever it was.
