If you think they are going to hatch within the next 24 hrs. your skin and body heat is the next best thing. I've hatched eggs that way when mom left nest after first chick. Use something to wrap the eggs to your stomach(something breathable) or, just lay on the couch with them under your shirt. (that's what I did) It took forever it seemed, but they hatched.

I have another hen who hatched 7 babies 3 days ago so as a last ditch effort I put the two eggs in front of her and to my surprise, she scoops them right under her. Hoping if they stay under her over night they might make it!!

Let's hope so! Becoming a hatching hen is hard on us! Much better if the other mom will do it! Here's hoping!

I would imagine! Lol I have 3 little humans to take care of so I don't think I'd make a very good stand-in mama hen:/ I must say this little hen has so impressed me! She is a tiny thing and young. Only started laying a couple months ago and went broody. Had a 100% hatch rate her first ever hatch and has now sweetly swept these two eggs under her with all of her babies 3 days after having them. What a supermom! Not sure if they have a chance since they had lost quite a bit of warmth and it took me a while to come up with the idea of putting them with new mom:/ we shall see what happens...

Yes, give an update please! Sounds like you've got a wonderful little momma hen there! We should all be so lucky.

Update! Supermom hen laid on eggs all night with her 7 babies as well but got off of them this morning to take her babies out into grass and eat, drink and scratch around. Candled eggs and still saw movement in one. This is final effort... Might be kinda crazy but it's what we came up with on the fly lol

Aww! I hope that works! Sorry the other egg died.

Momma hen probably knew that. Maybe she was not confident in this egg either. Let us know if your set up works!
