Help! Help! Urgent! I lost a quail!!

I don’t know about buttons, do they call? If I have one fly the coop, it’s like 2 minutes before they start calling for the flock. I lost 3 the other day, I thought I got everyone, I went on feeding and such, and next I hear calling from my neighbors bushes haha. I clipped all their wings before I moved them out, so they can’t get very far. Not sure if that’s helpful, but maybe it’ll call and you can find it.

They are too young to be calling to one another. Sadly I found the remains....................the cat caught it before my trap did I also lost a chicken to old age today, sad day

Aww. My cat has an interest in quail but I think the saving for them is they're bigger than buttons

One of our coturnix quail flew away once, over the fence and out of the yard. My mother went searching around the area for it a little later, and actually found it...in a cat's mouth. The cat dropped it, we got it back, applied Neosporin, and it recovered surprisingly fast.That was very lucky, however.
I am sorry that you lost your button quail.

i accidentally didnt latch the door once. three got out and one stayed. i thought all hope was lost, but one of my hens came back and now i have two quail. learned my lesson i guess.

I actually surprisingly found a live trap mouse trap (which was FULL of dead mice , so it obviously works) I put it out of one of the entrances to under my shed and covered the rest with bricks and rocks. And filled it with food

That's shocking to me! I'm not sure how the mice died in that live trap or who set the trap, but for anyone reading this: If you set a trap (any trap), but especially a live trap it is your responsibility to check that trap. It you can't check it. Disable it. If you find something still alive it the trap. It is also your responsibility to dispatch it as quickly and humanely as possible. Don't get me wrong. I have no problem with trapping and dispatching vermin, but *no creature* should be left to suffer.
