HELP!!!
I am having a heart attack here!!! :barnieMany of you posted a reply on my coop being finished page about me having cedar shavings in the nesting boxes. You said the shavings were toxic..... I didn't get to read it till now and am NOW having a heart attack!!!!! I am going right now to get it out of the coop (nest boxes but some of course had fallen on the floor and I alread have about 6 inches of bedding 95% pine shavings the other 5 % cedar maybe (that might be a high guestimate).
How toxic??? What does it do???? Are they going to be ok or should I be looking out for something????

Thank you for any help

That amount of cedar is fine. Straight cedar can be toxic to chicks and other baby fowl. If you notice your birds with respiritory distress, then remove the rest of the cedar.

I am moving this to the appropriate forum for further comments.
