Ok, a while back someone posted a pop door, that would slide sideways to let the chickens out... I looked and looked for that post...but, I can't find it.

Does anyone know where it is??

I am thinking it will work perfect for my coop I am building, but I needed to see how the door was constructed.

Thanks ever so muchly to anyone who can help me.

Oh...I remember one coop that was like that. It was the one that was built in a closet or something. The folks who it belongs to was the young girl who did that awesome video, envirogirl and her Mom SeaChick. Theirs slid from the other room past the wall...and it was in a metal trac.

If you go to User List you can search for Sea Chick and then send her a message....or if you do a search of her name in regular search it should pull up posts she did and one of them should have her coop in it.
I always remember her coop because of the mural her Daughter painted. I thought that was a great touch!

Hope that helps.

HMMM unfortunately the photos are showing up as little red "X"s...

But, good news, the Helpful hardware men at ACE Herdware showed me how to make the track for the door and they even gove me some big paint stirring sticks to use for the "thingy" to keep the door from falling out If that makes any sense at all.

I can't believe how good this is going!! It is beyond belief!! many of the pieces of "scrounged" lumber and wood, need only one end cut to make it fit the coop!! I will put the front on tomorrow and work on the nest box probably over the weekend.

For the first time I am praying for it NOT to rain!!

Don't forget to post pics when you're done!

By the way, I love your avatar? Is that a Gold Penciled Hamburg? We have a 2 year old hen and she is one of my favorites.

Oh I will for sure post pictures!! It will look better once it is painted since I am using all kinds of wood from different sources.

Yes that is a Gold Penciled Hamburg. I thought it was a very pretty chicken. Don't know where I would find one here. The local feedstore said to let them know when they make a chick order what kind I would like to have.

I have a friend coming over tomorrow with a power screwdriver!! My wrists are not up to this!! It will be nice to have someone helping me!! I hope to get quite a bit done tomorrow.
