My rabbit ate her new baby's why and how can I stop it she has plenty of food and water please help

She had 7 or 8 she is about 5 months old and she had the baby's yesterday this happened last night @chasiekitten12

Rabbits will eat their babies when they are stressed or nervous. If she still has babies, leave her alone in a dark area and make sure she has a nesting area to leave the babies in. I would suggest not handling them for a few days.

I'm sorry this happened to you. It's a terrible thing, but rabbits do it as a survival mechanism.

I don't know why she would be stressed or nervous. so how do I make sure she is not

It's very possible that she is just not settled into her new home yet. Try not to blame yourself though. These things just happen and very often it has nothing to do with the owners.

Some does do that. Breed her back in a couple of days. Put in a nesting box three days or so before she is due and make sure there are no dogs or noisy playing children running around in the rabbitry. If she kills her littter again, put her in a roasting pan, pour in a can of cream of mushroom soup, add some peas and cut up potatoes, cover and bake at 350 for about an hour or so. Sure cure.
